WHO ARE ILOS?

ILOS is a fast-growing renewable energy company with a strong presence across Europe, backed by BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts and committed to accelerating the energy transition. Since 2018, we have developed, built, and operated large-scale solar PV projects across seven core markets.

THE ROLE OVERVIEW

ILOS is seeking an EPC Project Manager for their Irish team to manage the technical delivery of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from ready-to-build stage through construction, commissioning and provisional acceptance. Reporting to the Head of Project Management, the role will ensure that assigned projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and in line with the required quality, contractual and regulatory standards.

The EPC Project Manager will act as the central interface between engineering, grid, procurement, construction, HSE, contractors, and external stakeholders. The role will take ownership of project budgets, cash flows, programmes, risks, and contractor performance while supporting the successful handover of completed projects.

TASKS

  • Manage several utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects simultaneously from ready-to-build stage through to Provisional Acceptance and handover.

  • Lead and coordinate EPC project teams, ensuring that project activities are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets and to the required quality standards.

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cash-flow forecasts, cost reporting, and financial controls in collaboration with procurement, finance and other relevant teams.

  • Own the EPC budget and cash-flow position, monitoring costs, commitments, invoices, variations, and forecast changes throughout project delivery.

  • Develop and manage project programmes, identifying critical paths, key milestones, dependencies, and required recovery measures.

  • Manage EPC and main-contractor contracts, change orders, subcontractor agreements and vendor interfaces, ensuring contract compliance and effective performance management.

  • Work closely with Procurement to coordinate sourcing activities, manage RFQs with the Contract Manager, and support the selection of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Identify project risks and opportunities, implement preventative measures, and coordinate practical mitigation actions to reduce potential impact on cost, schedule, and delivery.

  • Carry out regular site visits and work closely with Site Managers, main contractors and subcontractors to monitor progress, quality, delivery status and construction issues.

  • Liaise with lenders’ technical advisers throughout construction, including site visits, invoice verification, project reporting and acceptance testing.

  • Ensure technical feasibility, robust design and EPC readiness in collaboration with engineering, grid and development teams.

  • Work with the HSE Manager and local HSE consultants to ensure that all project sites meet applicable local health, safety and environmental requirements.

  • Coordinate with utilities, planning authorities and relevant external stakeholders on interconnection, permitting and other regulatory compliance matters.

  • Provide weekly reporting on budget and cash flow, site progress, procurement and component-delivery status, quality assurance, and HSE performance.

PROFILE

  • Proven track record of at least five years’ project-management experience in utility-scale solar PV projects, including ground-mounted projects of 50 MWp or above.

  • Experience managing EPC delivery, construction activities, contractors and project interfaces within renewable energy, infrastructure or a comparable capital-intensive environment.

  • Degree in Engineering or qualification as a certified technician, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, cash-flow management, programme management, risk management, and contractor performance.

  • Experience managing EPC, main-contractor, subcontractor and supplier contracts, including variations, change orders and contractual claims.

  • Good knowledge of applicable national electrical and construction codes, as well as relevant HSE and regulatory requirements.

  • Able to assess technical, commercial and programme risks and develop clear, practical mitigation measures.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams and external partners.

  • Comfortable working across multiple active construction sites and travelling as required.

  • Fluent German and English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Become part of a committed team shaping the future of clean energy, together.
